Answer: Passport: Passports can be used for all trips, and when traveling out of Sweden, the Passport Act requires that Swedish citizens carry a valid passport when traveling outside the EU and the Schengen area. This is independent of the rules of the country of entry. Some countries require that the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of return. Contact the country's embassy to find out what applies. Are you traveling within the Nordic countries? Temporary border controls have been introduced when entering several of the Nordic countries, including Denmark. This means that you may be asked at the border to prove that you are a Nordic citizen. Only passports and national ID cards contain information about citizenship. Therefore, Sola Air recommends carrying a passport or national ID card when traveling to/from Denmark. National ID card: National ID cards issued by the Police Authority can be used when traveling within the EU/Schengen. Countries where national ID cards can be used as travel documents: Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus*, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary. * National ID cards are accepted as travel documents when entering the northern part of Cyprus from the southern part. If you are traveling to the northern part of Cyprus from a country outside the EU, such as Turkey, a passport is required. Please check with your airline/carrier when booking your trip. (NOTE! A driving license is not the same as a national ID card.) Also be sure to check any visa requirements if your final destination is outside the EU. You who are going out and traveling are responsible for checking that you have a valid travel document for the country you are traveling into.
